Concept Hearing
Digital Hearing aids are classified as medical devices according to the Revenue Commissioners and qualify for tax relief of 20% or the standard rate of tax in the same tax year in which they are paid for.
For some people this can help assist with the cost of hearing aids as they can claim up to 20% tax back on the purchase price of their hearing aids.
In order to claim this relief, you need to be able to provide proof of purchase to validate your claim. Your Audiologist can help you with this process.
You can submit your claim online using Revenues online service called ‘My Account’ here.
This tax relief along with PRSI grants subject to eligibility can make advanced hearing devices much more affordable.
