What If I Do Not Qualify for a Grant?

You can do several things if you do not qualify for free PRSI hearing aid grants in Ireland.

You can also apply on your spouse’s behalf if you cannot do so yourself. To do this, your spouse must prove that they meet the PRSI requirements.

You can use your private health insurance to help cover the cost. However, you should check with your insurance provider to see if they cover the cost. Some insurance providers will only cover a certain percentage of the cost.

You may be able to claim tax relief. To do this, you will need a letter from your audiologist confirming that you need aids along with a receipt. You can find more information here.

You can set up a payment plan with your audiologist to help pay for hearing devices. This can be done by paying a deposit and then making monthly payments until the balance is paid off.
